Apache CloudStack 4.0.1-incubating Released!
In case you missed it via the official Apache CloudStack blog, the Apache CloudStack 4.0.1-incubating release is now officially out!
This is strictly a bugfix release, no new features or major changes. The bugs addressed in this release are listed in the CHANGES file, as well as one minor security fix for 4.0.0 (CVE-2012-5616).
The release took a bit longer than planned, but I think this is another major milestone for the Apache CloudStack project: we’re getting the release process(es) ironed out, and getting closer to releases that run like clockwork. I expect that the 4.0.2-incubating release will take much less time, and the 4.1.0-incubating release will be on schedule (or very close).
A big thanks to David Nalley and Chip Childers for their assistance on this release - wearing the release manager hat for the first time, I had quite a few questions getting this release ready.
Also a big thanks to everyone that helped fix the issues addressed in this release, and to the folks who tested and voted on the release! We all know that bug fixing and evaluating point releases isn’t quite as much fun as working on/with new features, but it’s a big part of having a healthy project and delivering software that’s useful to a wider community.
Now it’s time to start working on getting 4.0.2-incubating and 4.1.0-incubating out the door!
